Safety and Training Specialist

American Commercial Barge Line (ACBL) is looking for a Safety and Training Specialist who provides support and leadership in carrying out safety and vessel crew training activities.

What you will be doing Your IMPACT Conduct vessel safety/training visits to review safety programs with Team Members and facilitate onboard training, perform vessel checks, identify potential safety issues and suggest corrective measures, attend vessel safety meetings, and conduct drills.
Conduct facility safety visits to ensure full compliance with ACBL's SMS, U.
S.
Coast Guard, OSHA, and Environmental regulations.
Support investigations following accident, incidents, or injuries at ACBL facilities and on ACBL vessels.
Present safety and crew training program information to ACBL Team Members at meetings and training sessions.
Support ACBL's SMS by providing recommended updates and raise awareness of regulatory updates.
Aid local facility safety committees and industrial safety committees for assigned location(s).
What we are looking forYou will need to have:
5 years of experience in a safety, vessel operations, shipyard, or facility operations related role Ability to acquire a TWIC.
Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Travel as required in support of safety/customer meetings, safety training, vessel visits and other safety programs.
Travel may be required up to 50% outside home location.
Hold or can complete safety related training including Occupational Safety programs, Incident Management System, HAZWOPER, first aid and CPR, Train the Trainer or other safety training as assigned.
Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Individuals should prioritize and plan work activities efficiently.
Manage and motivate employees in a team-based environment.
Skilled in providing performance information and feedback.
Microsoft office products skills.
Able to communicate throughout the organization in a clear and concise manner.
Follow ACBL's SMS, safety standards, procedures, and methodologies.
